Introduction
Nathalie Dumontier is a painter born in 1964 in Eure-et-Loire in France. She paints in an abstract style of emotions and memories that she puts on her canvas, revealing a unique world inhabited by colors, softness and tranquility.
“My inspiration, I draw it in a moment of completeness, a moment that I try to extend in my visual production. Particularly attached to oil painting, I practice a non-figurative art. I free my gesture of the conveniences and rules in order to express my art freely.”

Early career
From a very young age, Nathalie Dumontier has been practicing art and sports at the same time. After a 20 year career as a sports coach, she decided to devote herself to art in 2006.
In 2008, she trained as a stained glass artist and, as she developed her skills and creativity, she found that her understanding of light and shadow, transparency and opacity, which she had explored in her paintings, also deepened.
Nathalie practices her art today on two different mediums, painting and stained glass, which allow her to express her emotions, sometimes in a vivid and powerful way, or on the contrary with subtlety and delicacy.
Her style
In her work, Nathalie Dumontier brings a sense of concreteness and fluidity by superimposing her own memories, perceptions and sensations on the canvas. Inspired by the fullness of time, she attempts to capture these living, eternal moments in her paintings. Elements of transparency and opacity intertwine to create a world of soft, pleasing colors. Nathalie has a particular affection for the technique of oil painting, which allows her to create a non-representational art. By freeing herself from the conventions and rules of the past, she is free to express herself as she is.
International exposure
Nathalie Dumontier regularly organizes solo and group exhibitions of her paintings and glass works in France and around the world, notably in Germany, China and the Netherlands. Her works are also part of private collections in Sweden, Shanghai and New York.
