Many years ago, I went to discover Norway with my husband. Driving out of Oslo at dawn, after our nightly ferry crossing, we had to stop dead in our tracks: a moose was slowly crossing the road, in front of our amazed eyes.
I have never forgotten this majestic vision, in the still gray day, and as if in slow motion. Since then, the moose represents for me a secret wild life, attractive, but which can only be caught in a glimpse.
I put a few moose in my paintings, as if to beg them not to go too far away.
